Uzhhorod National University (UzhNU) Ukraine

Uzhhorod National University belongs to the classical universities of Ukraine and has the highest - IV level of accreditation. Uzhhorod National University is one of the largest and best universities in the Carpathian region. It is located on the slopes of the Carpathians, in the beautiful student city of Uzhgorod, the westernmost regional center of Ukraine. The university is young, founded in 1945, but in a short period of time has shown itself in the scientific world, has become a landmark, an alma mater for many generations of students who now work successfully in Ukraine and in other countries. UzhNU has formed powerful scientific schools, known far beyond our country, scientific cooperation with many leading universities in the world.

Uzhhorod National University, according to international scientometric databases, is consistently among the top ten research centers in Ukraine. For 70 years the University has developed its own school of teaching, scientific and educational traditions. In total in UzhNU 1275 scientific and pedagogical workers work at the main place of work ,including 146 doctors of sciences, professors and 698 candidates of sciences, associate professors. UzhNU employees are 2 corresponding members of the NAS of Ukraine, 2 academicians of state branch academies of sciences of Ukraine, 8 academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, 11 honored workers of science and technology of Ukraine, 4 honored workers of education of Ukraine, 7 honored workers of education of Ukraine, 6 honored lawyers Of Ukraine, 14 honored doctors of Ukraine, 5 honored inventors of Ukraine, 5 masters of sports.

The university staff defends about 10 doctoral and 40 candidate dissertations annually.

More than 300 postgraduate and doctoral students prepare dissertations in more than 50 specialties at the university. There are 6 specialized scientific councils for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations - in physical and mathematical, medical, chemical, economic, historical and legal sciences.

The University publishes 12 professional periodicals, annually publishes more than 40 textbooks, holds about 30 scientific conferences, half of which - with the participation of foreign scientists.
